The teenage gunman who opened fire in an Arlington, Texas, school on Wednesday celebrated at home after being released on a $75,000 bond while his victims, a 15-year-old boy and a 25-year-old teacher, remained in the hospital, one of them clinging to life.

Timothy George Simpkins was being held on a $75,000 bond on three charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon but the 18-year-old walked out of Tarrant County Jail on Thursday afternoon. A bondsman met the bail terms on Thursday, posting at least some of the full amount, and he walked free.

On Wednesday, he pulled a gun from his backpack and shot a 15-year-old boy 'seven or eight times', shot teacher Calvin Pettitt in the back and grazed a teenage girl before going on the run from Timberview High School. He was angry about a fight that had just happened where the 15-year-old boy repeatedly punched him.

If he non-chalantly decided to shoot other students in a school over an argument, it seems obvious to me that he's a threat to society and should have been remanded into custody.

If he was a victim of bullying that was forced "over-the-edge" as the current narrative proposes, then it seems obvious to me that he's a threat to society and should have been remanded into custody.

Two illegally armed teenagers-- possibly inside a 51% establishment? I haven't seen anything definitive there-- are released after a shooting that injured 15 and killed 1. There's video evidence that they were armed, just no evidence they actually fired any rounds so no harm no foul.

The shooter that killed someone had bail set at $1 million. Given the DA's stance on cash bail I thought that was interesting. The shooter that paralyzed somebody, eh. No idea who that was. Garza gonna Garza.

I've been mentioning that shooting every time HB 1927 comes up. I mean, if we're not gonna prosecute people for carrying without an LTC that sounds like maybe we don't need the LTC after all. Surely you don't want that law on the books so you can selectively prosecute the wrong sort right?
