    Side holes in compensator

    I’m feeling bold about my drilling.

    Put some 5mm side holes in my compensator

    What effect does this have on the compensator’s performance?

    Have you tried using center drills?

    They are meant to sorta be a center punch that goes in the drill press. Size is not important if you just touch off.

    Thanks! I didn’t know those existed!

    I’m thinking a mill would be really handy.

    @john c

    There’s a video in my journal from Akai that talks about spinning gases and clocking with just up ports

    I noticed at my last match on a strong hand stage that the gun moves up and right which is unnatural compared to uncompensated guns, so I’m thinking it’s the lack of stabilizing side ports.

    Since I have two aftermarket comps coming, this is the time to experiment with one of the OEM ones.

    Teach a man to fish…

    @MickAK

    Well, I fixed my basement furnace by drilling holes to mount a used part!

    And was so motivated that I drilled a new J-frame sight.
