    I don't have a chronograph so I look up published load data then do test loads until I find one the runs well in my guns.

    I’ve been running 4.2-4.3 gr under Xtreme plated 230s for years in several 1911s. I, as well don’t have access to a chrono.

    For the OP, I have been exclusively using Titegroup and coated Gallant 124s for the last 5-6 years. Tens of thousands of rounds through about six different guns. No leading at all and no issues with smoke.
