Jesus I’m sick of people anymore...
Probably why a lot of people don't want jobs where they have to deal with the public anymore. I had a few wingnuts threaten me while I was on the job but it wasn't anything like what servers are going through now. I see in the county south of me they will be requiring proof of vax or negative test for indoor activity. I expect that will be statewide sometime this year. They'll probably have to hire bouncers.

SEATTLE - Seattle and King County Thursday announced an indoor vaccine requirement for restaurants, bars, gyms, movie theaters, and other entertainment venues. The mandate will also apply to outdoor events with more than 500 people in attendance.
In the P-F basket of deplorables.

Gunmen kill constable protecting polio team in Pakistan

Gunmen on a motorcycle Sunday shot dead a police constable guarding polio vaccination workers in rural northwest Pakistan, police said.
Senior officer Khalid Suhail said the attack happened in the village of Dhal Behzadi about 75 kilometers (47 miles) south of Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Members of the vaccination team were unhurt, he said. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the assault.
The attack came on the third day of a five-day polio vaccination drive across the province. It’s part of a nationwide program to eradicate the crippling disease by the end of 2021. So far this year, no new polio cases have been reported in Pakistan.
Khan said after Sunday’s attack in the district of Kohat, security for the vaccination teams has been enhanced. Some 40,000 police and paramilitary troops are assigned to provide security during the vaccination campaign.

Polio teams often targeted in Pakistan

Pakistani militants often target polio teams and police assigned to protect them claiming the vaccination campaigns are a Western conspiracy to sterilize children.

Last month, a police officer was killed while returning home from guarding a polio vaccination team in Peshawar and a roadside bomb exploded when a police van escorting a vaccination team was passing by in the Ladha area of South Waziristan. The explosion wounded a police officer, but the vaccination team was unhurt.

    Great example.

For anyone wondering, what HCM posted is just the tip of the iceberg.

The Constable mentioned returning home....his name was Asif Khan, and polio teams weren't the only people he was assigned to protect. He left behind a wife and kids.

Growing up in the land and time of abortion clinic bombings I’ve honestly been surprised we haven’t seen the same directed towards vaccination centers yet.

Guerrero said her 4-month-old son has cystic fibrosis, and so she and her husband wear masks when they go out to protect him.

I'm not in favor of kicking people out of restaurants for wearing masks, because they're not doing anyone there any harm by doing so.

However, if they're worried about a 4-month old son at home being exposed to something that they caught from others while eating out at a restaurant... maybe get takeout? Eat somewhere that has outdoor seating?

Unless they're N95s or something similar, they are mostly there to protect others from you, and you're still going to have to take your masks off to eat. If no one else is masking I don't know if it'd help much.

The Aussies in Victoria are getting stroppy: Melbourne protesters march down city streets lighting flares, fireworks

From 10am, about 150 people had gathered at the corner of Elizabeth Street and Victoria Parade, some chanting "f--- the jab", in protest of the Victorian Government's COVID-19 vaccine mandate for construction workers.
Dozens of police formed multiples lines down Elizabeth Street barricading the CFMEU's office in readiness to stop the protest from getting out of control and prevent the violent scenes that occurred yesterday.
Heavily armed police with gas masks arrived and officers blared messages over a speaker, warning protesters to "leave now or force may be used".

For sure! If one of my kids was of particular vulnerability, I sure as hell wouldn't be going to restaurants. Takeout works just fine for lots of places.
