    I would guess it would penetrate at least as well as the Winchester RA9115HP. That 115 grain +P+ JHP penetrated 15.3" of 10% ordnance gel after steel and 11.3" after auto glass in Winchester's law enforcement testing.

    I wonder if the 115 WWB penetrated deeper than the 124 NATO as a result of yawing. The 124 grain bullet is .596" in length while the 115 is only .490" long.

    Would not something pointy penetrate better than something flat?

    My guess is that the flat nose may deflect less due to angled impacts.....If this is the case it would be the only advantage it seems to this round.

    Not sure why anybody cares for civilian use....

    The pointy bullet splits the wood fibers more efficiently.



    A flat nose bullet can sometimes aid penetration if it reduces bullet yaw.

    The bullet length I quoted for the 115 grain Winchester White Box load appears to be incorrect.

    I think the bullet length is most likely .590" in actuality.

    If the 115 and 124 weights are much closer in length than previously stated, then any bullet yaw may have had little or no effect on penetration.
