I did not see a certain fact stated in the thread. Flite Control buckshot was designed to perform best in cylinder barrels. In shotguns with screw in choke tubes, using a cylinder tube is necessary to obtain best patterns.
Gt Distributors has in stock for $4.99 a box -
8 pellet FC-LE13300-BX
9 pellet FC-LE12700-BX
These are 5 shots of Federal Flight Control 8 pellet (LE13300) out of a Beretta 1301 with a cylinder choke. POA was center of the 24” gong (brown paint spot) with an Aimpoint T2. Shots were taken with the gun placed in a Caldwell Lead Sled at 25 yards.
The is my first experience with flight control, is this the typical expected pattern/consistency with this load?
Forgot to include the lot number and a shots of the wadd (after firing).
I'd say those patterns at 25 yards are atypical on the positive side.
In other words, those patterns are smaller than I'd normally expect to see at 25 yards. They appear to be nicely concentrated and pretty damn near point of aim. That's about as good as you're going to get with buckshot at 25.
I'd be perfectly happy running that ammo in that gun.
