    TAU Development Group/SCD Contact?

Hey All, does anybody have a contact at Tau Dev? I have a Gen 5 SCD that died, and was wondering if there was any warranty for this product?

Can I ask what happened? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a SCD failure.

Hinged backplate fell off. Gun still goes bang, just no ability to trap the striker with my thumb while reholstering.Name: SCD died.jpg

Did the pin fail, or was it something else? What kind of round count?

No idea, the backplate and pin are somewhere out in range fairy land. I was shooting and at some point it wasn't there any more.

About 10,000, at some point I sorta lost track. I'm on my 2nd recoil spring for this gun.

Interested to see the cause of this. It’s the first time I’ve heard of a failure and without doubt you will be taken care of by the company.

Probably the best way if I’d guess.

    Following with interest.

That’s unusual, to say the least. Tom will no doubt get you taken care of once he sees this, and I’ll be interested in any discovery around the failure. First one I’ve heard of, and there are a lot of gadgets out there.

Good for you for shooting a gadget into the ground though. Keep the round count up.

Assuming there's no sign of damage to the center piece that the pin runs through, either....

    1. Pin broke.
    2. Damage to one of the ears on the back plate, allowing the pin to fall out (no way to determine without finding the missing plate)
    3. (unlikely) Not inserted into the slide fully/correctly, allowing the pin to fall out.

The SCD is precise, but, uncomplicated.
