It's like an Izula with the same handle but a slightly longer blade with more of a spear point. They are both 1095, but the BK14 is a slightly more modern 1095cv. I've read conflicting opinions about who executes the design/heat treat better. I know Esee will have move aftermarket support, but the BK14 seems pretty darn popular too.
I personally prefered the BK24 (BK14 in D2 steel) to the Izula. In carbon steel I think I would still prefer the slightly larger Becker style blade. But, I would rather have the s35v izula to a carbon steel bk14, because I find that all carbon steel looses an edge faster than I like, especially when exposed to abrasive materials while cutting, or my extra corrosive sweat.
