Thread: Skyfall. Get ready.

    Cool Skyfall. Get ready.

I'm not sure how I feel about Javier Bardem having blonde hair, but otherwise I am tap dancing in place because of excitement. Bond's PPK/s seems silly, but it still looks good, which is probably its chief raison d'etre. What would the practical minded, but still aesthetically sensitive members of this site suggest he carry. Here are the parameters:

    • It has to be concealable.
    • It has to be of a common service caliber.
    • It should look reasonably good.
    • Reliability is king.

Hopefully this is a fun little exercise to do in between all the serious discussions of early unlocking, problematic extractors, and icky triggers. Here's to my first thread not sucking too terribly.

Years of watching Highlander have taught me anything is concealable when there's a script that says so. That being the case, I think an AR-15 is the way to go for the next one of these.

It's at least as concealable as the PPK is reliable.

    Hmmm.

I could see Bond having a suppressed AR15 pistol. His movie hero skills will allow him to be supremely accurate with it one handed.

I can see Bond carrying a 3913 NLS...

Should have been at least a PPS 9mm or a P99 or better yet, a PPQ. But a PPK/S? Seriously?

As of the newest Bond Novel Carte Blanche, Bond is carrying a PPS in .40 S&W...

He had a P99 in Casino Royale. For reasons unbeknownst to me the armorer switched him back to a PPK/S for the beginning of Quantoum of Solace. He did end that movie with a Sig P210, though.

The Bond guns in the post-Fleming books are far more diverse. At one time or another he has carried the Browning Hi-Power, H&K P7, H&K VP70, a custom ASP...

Personally, I think the latest author made a fitting choice with the Walther PPS, though it would have better suited Bond in 9mm.

Wikipedia actually has an impressive listing of James Bond firearms from the movies and books here.

Well, at least we've come a long way from the .25 Beretta.

Hm. Hadn't thought about it, but that seems appropriately Bond-esque.

    Books. Bikes. Boomsticks.

I can explain it to you. I can’t understand it for you.
