    Clear, non-prescription shooting glasses

I was shooting at an indoor range today and came to the realization that my clear shooting glasses have finally wore out. They are scratched and falling apart.

Since I normally shoot outside and use my impact resistant sunglasses I have not looked at clear glasses for quite some time. A quick search of the internet resulted in a confusing amount of choices. I was hoping to cut to the chase and ask the experts.

I perfer individual lenses to the "Randy, Macho Man, Savage" type goggles and was wondering what the general consensus is on shooting glasses brands here at PF for someone without a prescription?

    Thanks,

    Matt

I use these. They are comfortable and have excellent optics.
Lenses swap easily. Fit well under muffs. This price is considerably less than I paid a few years ago.

For reference, here’s the Army approved list: https://ephc.amedd.army.mil/HIPECata...yes_update.pdf

I have an individual-lens pair I got through the vendor who provides them at my work. That may be an option if your workplace has a PPE program.

You can pick up various clear shooting glasses on Amazon for $10 or less. I wear prescription lenses but wear the safety glasses over my actual lenses and it works out fine. The ones I use are out of stock but I am sure there are other options.

I use the ESS crossbow with the extra thin temples (suppressor kit) because it fits under ear pro. And it’s on the .Mil list, above. You only have one set of both eyes and ears, so that set up made sense to me.

My go-to is the Rudy Project Tralyx. I like the slim model as it fits my somewhat narrow face well. It is a single-lens design, so maybe not quite your preference, but it isn’t as 90s-looking as some other shooting-specific options. I like the photochromic lens, and the ImpactX holds up remarkably well. I’ve been using the same lens for weekly range sessions since late 2018 and they still appear new. Conversely, every Oakley M-Frame lens I’ve ever used has started delaminating at the edges within six months…

Here’s what I find most comfortable under Peltor earpro with gel cups.

I think I have the 85’s, but I may also have some “full-size” lens glasses:

Extremely flat temples, great visibility, easy to get clean.
    Work good, last long time.

    I have black w/clear lenses.
That color combo is out-of-stock on the Gargoyles site (and was the last time I shopped for them), but is findable on other sites with some Googling.

My favorite glasses are the Oakley SI Speedjacket with interchangeable lenses. I have two sets.
