True story (no, for real…) I was once in a vegas pawn shop at night, and there was a very strung out lady wanting to hock her gold fillings. This went on a while, before the proprietor got rid of her and I had a chance to ask him if that was a common occurrence.

It’s like putting gold rims on your Camry.
Compared to jewelry, which this slide cover plate is, the markup is not too bad. The really bad news is 18K gold is soft enough that dry firing the pistol will dent the plate and impact the reliability. Of course, using the pistol, let alone dry firing, is the last thing a buyer of this product would consider.
Waiting for TDG to release the gadget in 18K gold.
