With the recent injury to the pinkie and ring fingers on my right hand, I'm just getting back to where I can grip my G26 without too much drama.

I did find yesterday that drawing from the depth setting I had on the G19 Orion was a bit problematic, as my ring finger has both dead spots and hypersensitive spots. The sensitive parts barked a bit at trying to draw from a setting not giving me much clearance above the belt (but which had been the best balance of stealth and access prior to this).

Moved the clip to the setting affording the most clearance from the belt line and that seemed to greatly alleviate the issue, but was a bit less concealable. So I installed one of Mastermind's appendix carry pillows last night (rather than a full blown wedge) and I'll test out whether that strikes the right balance of comfort, concealment and ease of access to the G26. (I had been going without any wedge on the holster up until the injury.)

In any case, I feel good about the progress made.

The Orion works great with DCC clips

I have and have had DCC on other holsters but have not used them (yet) on any of my Orions. At the present moment, manipulating two clips would be more hassle than its worth until the injury recovers further.

After wearing holes in my 2nd pair of pants, my DCC clip days are over. They are as tough as a $2 steak true enough but they are rough on material. I've switched back to PTD loops on everything. Speaking of the Orion, I got a 17-length one a month or so ago. With loops, there's a little more reverse cant movement than I like (probably wouldn't happen with DCCs). I always go back to my JMCK WC 2.0 and 2.5.

But with the Orion and its 1.75" metal clip, it's the best clip option I own when I have to go beltless.

I replaced my PTD loops on all of my Orions with the DSG metal clip. It works very well, (not perfectly as there is that slight movement), with the thickness of my various belts, and as you say, when belt-less.

There are no perfect answers, but several very good ones. My JMCK "George" is my other go-to in 19 size. With PTD loops on it, I get virtually no movement at all.

Right after I got my Orion mainly for beltless carry (gym shorts, sweats, etc) I solved my beltless dilemma... with a belt. The Mastermind Tactics Specialist Covert is a rubbery light-weight belt with a special hook and loop system that you can wear under your shorts or over shorts if your cover shirt is long enough. When we're on hard walks I AIWB carry a G26 in my JM 2.0, my phone in a Mastermind belt pouch at 9:00 and my wallet and keys in another Mastermind pouch at 3:00.

I despise the over-used term "game changer" but this belt comes close for me. https://www.mastermindtactics.com/sh...cialist-covert

I was an early adopter and have reported my impressions in the Mastermind forum. (The utility pouch carries my creds...and I have the magazine pouch as well.)

Back to the G19 sized Orion...

    ...It works. Well.

Just back from a 1.5 mi. hike up and down hill in the area around our home. The Mastermind ACP made a good bit of difference with the Orion (G19) in the highest position, keeping it stealthier and more stable. I'll work with this for a while and if I need more, I'll substitute one of their large/firm foam wedges I have a few of.

    More progress.

I have an Orion for a 48 and a second Orion Long Boi for a 48. I love these holsters and the clips that he uses. I tried an early version of a 17 length Orion and it didn’t work great for me. I might try a 34 length and see if it works better. That extra bit of length at the muzzle gets past a spot on my pelvis that gets very painful after a couple of hours.
