Still waiting for the military to mandate a rail mount PMO system. That will change the game dramatically.
Cat’s out if the bag. Glock is showing the ACRO cut gun at SHOT.

How many years do you think before these (and the ACRO) are easily available for MSRP?

The ACRO ? A year mas o menos. Depends on COVID. They will be available at or below MSRP before that but there is a strong agency demand as evidenced by two of the biggest pistol suppliers making dedicated ACRO cut pistols.

As for what Glock will do who knows. Glock has been selling the Shield and RMR specific MOS cut guns in Europe for at least two years that I am aware of. MOS Glock 26s are also sold overseas. When is Glock gonna release the G 47?

Maybe when Lipsey’s is ready to order a few thousand each in tan green and gray?

Somebody let me peak into the bag before SHOT.

This is all good. Moving us toward better options and more robust equipment.

Question is - will this be an open stock SKU, or for agency order only?

If I understand correctly, both Smith and Glock are showing slides that have a standard ACRO footprint milled into the slide? Hence, no plate that must first be attached to the slide? If this is accurate, this is what I was contemplating in the standard mounting thoughts. Would it also be accurate that the ACRO would be a tad bit lower mounted upon the slide?

    Regards, Steve

Vs the MOS, yes. It loses the plate thickness so the optic sits in the slide instead of on the slide.
Those pics indicate that stock Glock sights are probably just tall enough to work with the ACRO while still being mostly out of the window.

S&W has a SKU for a 2.0 slide that is cut specifically for the Acro. It was done a good-sized Texas agency. During a meeting yesterday, I was told by an S&W employee (who had helped me out on something previously) that they would consider running that SKU for commercial sales if there was interest.
