Anybody have any info on an Acro P2 recall? I just read on article on VDMSR.COM about the P2 glass cracking during shooting.
I emailed Dawson tech support to ask them about their Acro plate compatibility. Here's their reply...
"We don't recommend the P1 mount for the P2. Our new Acro plate works with both P1 and P2 and is available on our website.

Emailed Aimpoint asking if there was a recall. I'm impressed with how quickly they respond to all my inquiries. Here's their reply...

No sir. That is incorrect. We do have a small number of sights that are being recalled. The recalled sight have a potential leakage problem. Nether of your sights are affected. I have the sight you are referring to from vdmsr.com in for service at this time and it had most definitely taken impact damage.

Thx Grnamin. No problems with my P2 so far. Only about 600 rounds in but so far so good.
Installed the P-2 Dawson plate for the Staccato today. Word of caution: the screws are too long and will contact the extractor in the channel. I had to file approximately 1 full thread off and it is good to go. Not a major issue but one to look for. On the plus side the new mount has bosses which is a welcomed addition.
Thank you, CDFIII. I wonder why 3 more o-rings were added to the bottom of the mount. The rear sight no longer has a retaining screw. Can it still be drifted? Good catch on the screw contacting the extractor!
