My wife is under the knife as I type this. It's been a fast & furious ride from the diagnosis exactly 4 weeks ago. Multiple mammograms, multiple biopsies, ultrasound, MRI, surgeon, oncology, reconstruction surgeon and wait times mixed in for results to come back.
Lobular carcinoma if I recall correctly. There is nothing quite like the kick in the pants a cancer diagnosis gives you. One great result was negative lymph node involvement. Also she was told that her cancer is very hormone receptor positive. Hormone therapy will shut off the cancer's progression and since she is getting it removed strongly prevent it's return.
She is handling this like a trooper! She fully intends to drive to Utah with our daughter at the end of this month, all her doctors know this and agree it is possible.
