Switching Back To PTD Loops From DCC Clips

After using the DCC clips for the past year or so, I noticed the clips are a little rough on the bottom edge of some of my belts where the hook locks onto the belt. I've also seen some wear on my pants at the bottom area of the clip where it mounts to the holsters. As clips go, DCC clips are great but I'm liking the simplicity of the PTD loops.

Has anyone else switched back to loops from DCC clips?

I have in most instances, but still have a DCC clip on a Harry's Holsters "Icon", and have not given up on wanting to see if I can make them work for me with the right setup.

PTDs are on the bulk of my gear, with the exception of some of Tom's "Dark Star Gear" setups (where I use his metal clip in place of PTDs).

Not yet. I find PTD loops print more and are harder to put on. What I mean is looping them under my belt takes a few seconds more than just sliding the DCC on. When you do it multiple times a day it becomes a PITA.

I do have a single PTD loop on my mag carrier (DSG Koala). It doesn’t seem like a problem there for some reason.

Yep, I have a Koala too. I didn't like how the loop rotated on the Koala but after using another similar option with a DCC clip, I actually like the loop movement on the Koala.

I agree it takes a little longer to get the loops on but i find I more than make up the time when removing the holster. I carry almost always in a couple of JMCK Wing Claw 2.0s and the hole spacing is wide enough that I can't just pull the clips open with index and middle finger, so I usually two-hand it to get it off and I have to be careful not snagging stuff taking it off.

That's the setup I love. With a Beretta in my shorts, PTD loops are the least of my print worries. I did put DCC clips on my Phlster City Special, which is really what Phlster should put on it.

I’ve been carrying with DCC clips on a JMKC WC 2.0 for over a year. I’ve noticed a bit more wear on the belt, but no way I’ll go back to loops. The clips do an outstanding job of holding it exactly where I want it. It did take a while to get used to putting it in and removing it.

I have DCCs on my Keeper for the 92. I haven't noticed a real problem, and like the easy on/off.

Both have their pros and cons, but I switched and have stuck with PTD loops. I fit mine so they fit my Graith Specialist belts very tightly as well.

Any particular method you care to share @MDFA ?
