    P365 failure

RSA coil came out of round and bound the slide from fully retracting.

I pulled the FCU off the frame while still attached to the slide and reseated the coil enough to release the slide.

Well that sucks. Just need a new RSA then? Or something else?

Roughly how many rounds through this one?

I used a Dremel (this is me we are talking about) and I cut the wayward coil off.

It’s actually one of the first P365s built (Jan 2018) and I’ve never changed the RSA.

No idea how many rounds. Doesn’t look like a great design though.

This was the RSA before the redesign. I have one of the redesigned ones sitting around somewhere that they sent me.

It’s one of the reasons I keep my carry guns low round count and I practice with the spare beater one.

Good to know. I had no idea the FCU could be persuaded off of the grip frame with the slide attached!

There’s one pin in the rear to remove and the FCU can just snap out with a little force.

I figured that even if I had to Dremel the frame to get it off, it’s a cheap plastic part.

Thankfully it didn’t come to that.

Initially I wasn’t sure where it was hanging up so I removed the back plate, striker and firing pin safety block. But it was hanging up on the RSA so for a Sig there wasn’t another way to get the RSA off with the frame still on.
