Building the Ultimate 1911 Self-Defense Handgun

Good video from 1997 discussing modifications and showing how parts are fitted:

Whoa! I didn't think those guys were ever that young.

I can't believe those guys are that old . . . er, were ever that young . . . either. 1997 . . . I had owned my first 1911 for 20-odd years by then (and still have it). I'm thinking Ken has me by a couple of years, but when one passes a certain age, the differences are pretty much inconsequential. Knowledge-wise, he's a couple of centuries ahead.

I bought my first 1911 in 1997, and haven't looked back

Great video. I did not own a gun and had never fired a 1911 in 1997. Admired them in magazines though! I graduated high school, completed US Army Infantry OSUT, airborne school at was at my first duty station by the end of 1997.

LOVED THIS VIDEO! Bill Wilson, Ken Hackathorn, and Lenny McGill. I loved the way the slide was tightened to the frame. Man, I miss the 80’s and 90’s!

I bought my first Colt 1911 in 1962. Mail order from Klines in Chicago.
The Postman left it on the front porch.
Was a better America in those days.

That is like vintage 80s porn…the synthesized music, the mullets, the mustache. All we need now is Christy Canyon with that amazing bush.
I like my rifles like my women - short, light, fast, brown, and suppressed.
