    I actually have a soft spot for the old Maverick. When I was in HS ca. 1978 or so I had a job delivering prescriptions for a local mom and pop pharmacy (fox, meet henhouse) and they had a beat to hell Maverick. Us drivers had an abandoned railroad crossing on one of the shortcuts, it was a high crest. We all tried to beat each other for amount of air achieved and distance travelled. That poor car… later replaced with a Fairmont that was so underpowered that it would hardly unload the suspension on the crest.
