Odd that Ford chose “Maverick”, which I associate with the 1970s “sporty” family sedan. Seems like “Ranger” would have been the logical name for a smaller pickup truck.
But I obviously don’t work in marketing...

Probably everything the average urban dweller needs. Haul a bit without pay truck gas bills. Ford and CVT Im not sure how that tranny rates. The main thing that kept me from buying an Escape was transmission problems. Like completely replace it outside of warranty problems.

Born in the 70's and raised in the 80's, I always regard the "Maverick" as a really beat-to-shit piece-of-garbage car, usually with filthy exhaust and barely running.

The Pinto seemed more refined. I had one of those, in a station wagon style. Maybe they'll bring that name back?

Reminds me of the Explore Sport Trac or maybe a Honda Ridgeline?
