    10mm 1911 magazine recommendations?

I want to get a couple more magazines for my Dan Wesson Specialist in 10mm. The factory mags are Checkmate I believe and function fine. They have anti-tilt follower. I want to make sure any new ones have a nice angle upward toward ramp/barrel. I saw a Utube where a gunsmith was very complimentary of the SIG 1911 magazines with respect to the higher angle upward toward ramp but this discussion was for a 45 ACP. The Wilson Combat 47NX looks like a nice magazine with anti-tilt follower. Does anyone know firsthand if the WC 47NX has a nice angle upward designed into the magazine or if the SIG design is superior? Thanks in advance.

Before I had to stop going to the range, I had bought a Sig 10mm 1911 (believe Tacops model). It had one Kimber mag (which I was told they thought was a checkmate), four Sig mags and one Wilson combat mag.
The followers on all three match, the baseplates on the Sig and the Wilson are more consistent. I bought several Wilson ones when I found a deal, and tend to use them, leaving the originals in the box.

“Sootch” on Utube did a very flattering review of the Wilson 47NX magazine in 10mm. His had a black nylon follower that is self lubricating. Does yours have a metal or black nylon follower? The pics on the Wilson Combat for the 47NX have a metal follower and so do the pictures of these mags on several retailers websites. I’m wondering if Wilson changed the design and if I got the metal follower would it perform as well? The plastic follower is in bottom pic while the current WC picture (top) shows metal follower.

All four Sig, One Kimber and three Wilson combat, have the metal follower. I don't know how old the stock was, but all were acquired in the 2018-2019 time frame.

Thanks! Sounds like getting the WC 47NX with metal follower is recommended. I’ll pursue getting 2 of those.

My 1911 experience with the 10mm is non-existent but my 1911 experience in .45acp and 9mm says you may want to try a couple of brands to see what your pistol performs reliably with before buying in bulk.

Caveat emtor: I have never shot a 1911 in centimeter.

I believe I heard on a couple P&S podcasts (Steve Fisher said it,iirc, to name drop, and the panel confirmed) that the best kept secret about 10mm mags is to use good .45 mags. I filed that away in case I ever got a 10.

I pulled my Yost Delta Elite from the safe. The magazines for it are CMC M-CL-10FS9-P. I also use the OEM Colt magazines and some Mec-Gars. I will have to try the .45 ACP magazines.

I am running, and have a great success with the Tripp 10mm magazines in my .40. I load my .40s long for the 1911, which is why I use a 10 mm mags.

Interesting note, I run 9 mm, .40, and 45. My preferred magazine for each is from a different manufacture. Just keep in mind, just because one mag brand is best for one caliber doesn’t mean it’s best for another.

My experience exactly with my .38 super/9 x 19 Colt. Tripp and Wilson work the best, also Mecgar. I really like the Tripp mags the best.
