Thanks for another great newsletter, @Tom Givens.

It was great to have the opportunity to train with Givens this year. Absolutely top-quality classroom and range instruction with zero wasted time. If anyone is undecided about training with him, I strongly recommend it.

    Likewise.

And that Baseline Assessment Drill is such a fast, simple way to catch cold ability on some practical skills. I use it a lot.

With respect to the lessons from Maine, wasn't the bowling alley a GFZ by signage, and don't such signs have the force of law in Maine?

It is my understanding it was not legally posted. It wasn't legal to murder 18 people either, though.

Thanks for continuing to post these newsletters Mr Givens!

Neither range I belong to allows drawing from a holster. Does that change the par time for the first part of the Baseline Assessment Drill?

Yes. Any time a drill specifies a draw, but you start at Ready, subtract 1 second from the par time.

    Super obtuse question from me:

Can you explain the “ready” position?

Is it on target? Or compressed, or low ready?

I don’t want to misinterpret the starting position.

    Thanks!
