    What a fantastic story!

The low body count events get overlooked.

    Here's how MSN covered it.

"The shot to his face left Mendez in the hospital for a week and resulted in him losing his left eye, tearing an eardrum, losing his sense of smell, and fracturing his jaw.

But, he says, "luckily," he was able to turn at the right angle so that the shot was(not) fatal.

Now, Mendez is using his time to speak up for the Second Amendment, sharing that he wouldn't be here without it.

"This world is unpredictable. And honestly, at the end of the day, the people that want to ban guns, they're only banning it from good people, not criminals," Mendez shared. "Because again, there is no gun laws for criminals."

If anything, the low body count events are better to pay attention to.

I mean after all, when the good guys claps the bad guys before the bodycount gets higher, that's what should be emphasized.

How it was covered the day after:

Surprise Police Officer Barry Bre’dell said during a news conference on Tuesday that 46-year-old Jason Hunt was invited to the party when a fight broke out. While he was inside the house, Bre’dell said Hunt started shooting first. He also said other party attendees also fired their guns but didn’t elaborate. All the weapons involved in the shootout were handguns, Bre’dell said. Surprise police declined to say if Hunt started the fight and did not name him as a suspect.

According to neighbors, Hunt was a U.S. Army sergeant and worked as a recruiter. However, witnesses provided a different perspective on what happened at the party. Hunt reportedly walked over to the house and was offered food and drinks. Family members said when he was done eating, Hunt unexpectedly started shooting. Witnesses added that the whole thing happened in front of several children. However, during the press conference, Bre’dell said no children were at the party.

    ...

In a video posted on social media, Hunt showed off guns and ammo days before the shooting.
