I’m not joking.
My FIL passed away January 3rd of last year.
He lived with us the last 7 years of his life, during which I did his taxes.
I just completed his 2020 return, and his estate will be getting $1,800 in stimulus money.

bureaucrats don't believe in death, a return was filed a check is sent.
My step father passed away more than ten years ago, my Mother's car is still registered in his name she tried telling DOT several times and the response has always been "HE has to transfer it over.
...don't even get me started on getting a death certificate for an out of state relative...
It sounds like it's filing taxes-related. Hopefully it's not based on voting.
I just saw a video online (not the Babylon Bee) where Rand Paul says the social security administration admitted in a hearing a while ago that they had roughly 6 million active recipients over 112 years old. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was true.

Comment is at about the 5 minute mark.
The first indication a bad guy should have that I'm dangerous is when his
disembodied soul is looking down at his own corpse wondering what happened.
It's reparations for all those years he had to pay exorbitant taxes. I don't need the checks either but if they're giving me back some of the money I paid the IRS when I was in a 23% tax bracket that's fine with me.
I'm pretty sure they're not set up for you to give it back.
We just put the money into a GET (guaranteed education tuition) account for the grandkids.

In the P-F basket of deplorables.
Well, he is probably voting Democrat somewhere, so he still gets a stimulus check.

Same thing for my mom. She died last April.
