    EXTREME GUN PORN

So I met this guy whose grandpa was Loveless the knife maker.
We got to talking shooting and he shared some photos of a gun I have never heard of.
    It starts with this

I almost snagged two of them at auction about ten years ago. Seems few people knew Loveless built pistols too. @blues

I've known a few knife makers over the years that were gunsmiths, built custom rifles and barrels, and such. I guess it's not a huge surprise. I didn't know specifically about Loveless doing so, however.

Some of his blades were recently on the Nordic Knives website.

I was just talking with him. He said it was actually Loveless’s partner Bob who did the conversion. I have no idea why it’s called a Loveless conversion in the video.

Notice its hammer fired. If I ever see one of these for sale Ill buy it. The 41 is my favorite .22. I got to shoot one once that the owner won Nationals with. The sweetest gun Ive ever fired.

Maybe because Bob Loveless wrote a gunzine article about making it. Was he taking the Other Bob's credit?

    Notice its hammer fired.
It always was, Loveless cut off the rear of the slide to expose the M41 enclosed hammer and welded a spur on it, among many other things. Notice that he also built a backstrap for slab grips instead of the target pistol's wraparounds.

As I recall, he he said he never did figure out the safety, small and stiff. So he just went Condition 2.

If I ever see one of these for sale Ill buy it.

Sad story. I once saw one advertised in the old Shotgun News at a store not too far from here. By the time I could work up my nerve to break the piggy bank for a whole $200 (Most of a week's pay at the time.), the store burned down.

Im just relaying the info as provided by the grandson. Ive invited him to PF. If he comes over maybe he can clarify.

$200??!! I wonder how much one would go for now?
