Thread: EXTREME GUN PORN

There was a magazine article in the 1970s about the Loveless modifications on a S&W #41 .22lr. I believe it was in Guns & Ammo.

Yes, I think there was a Guns & Ammo or G&A Annual article. There was also a comprehensive piece in Chapter 17 (pp 272-283) of The Gun Digest Book of Pistolsmithing by Dean Grennell (?)
The first indication a bad guy should have that I'm dangerous is when his
disembodied soul is looking down at his own corpse wondering what happened.

It always was, Loveless cut off the rear of the slide to expose the M41 enclosed hammer and welded a spur on it, among many other things. Notice that he also built a backstrap for slab grips instead of the target pistol's wraparounds.

As I recall, he he said he never did figure out the safety, small and stiff. So he just went Condition 2.

Sad story. I once saw one advertised in the old Shotgun News at a store not too far from here. By the time I could work up my nerve to break the piggy bank for a whole $200 (Most of a week's pay at the time.), the store burned down.
Recalling the convo I believe both of them did the conversion. I believe the stainless one was built by the other Bob not his grandfather. I dont know who did the blued one. I also believe the one in the video was actually done by Marcus Lin.

One was sold by the Rock Island Auction Company in 2017 for $8,500.. According to the description, the turnaround time on an order for one was four years.

I am not familiar with him at all, though it looks fun!
