I inherited two chainsaws from my stepdad and only want to keep one - I’ll give the other to a friend.
1. Poulan Pro 295, maybe 18”?
2 McCulloch Mac 3516, maybe 14”
Which do I keep for occasional chores?

I’ll probably let them both go, then. Thanks!

Selling both probably wouldn't be a bad idea. I would go with an Echo, the CS-590 will do everything you want. Plus you get a 5 year consumer warranty.

Already gave them both away. Thanks, all!

In my younger years, when we were broke-ish, I owned both brands you listed.
The Poulan was just a POS. The McCulloch worked, only when it wanted to.
Since then, I have only run Stihl. An 020 that worked for close to 20 years, and now an MS170 for small jobs, and the MS291 for larger chores.
We run Husquavarna at work, I hate em.

Don't know. I quit trying to get my Poulan to work and bought a Stihl.
I still have Stihl 038 AV Super 1980s vintage. Runs well.
Also 020T, 044, MS 200, MS 660.
I like pro grade saws if you can afford it.
