I own a Sig 556 SWAT pistol and wanted to add a hand stop to the bottom picatinny rail. Clamp-on style accessories mount easily, but slide-on style accessories can pose a problem. The front of the pic rail has a large nub blocking anything from sliding onto the pic rail.

I had an Arisaka hand stop that I wanted to mount that slides onto the rail. My solution was to slide in on from the back side! There’s a small section about 1.25” long that is flat and NOT dovetailed. It’s about .65” wide so hopefully your accessory is wide enough to drop down and slide forward.

Thank goodness the Arisaka piece was wide enough to clear the width and short enough to drop down on the length. I was prepared to file down the fingers of the clamping area on the Arisaka piece but it wasn’t necessary!
