I am old enough to remember. This made me belly laugh. Thank you for that.

On a somewhat serious note, how would "dart the perps" work? Would there be a "dial-a-dose" needle so the dosage can be adjusted to account for the dartee's body weight? Or would the darter have to make a quick estimation of body weight and then load the appropriate dart? How does that work at a bad-breath range encounter?
If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

Massive dose and Narcan or other antidote in the kit. Dart, cuff, neutralize.

Have we developed faster acting drugs with a lot of safe working range of dosage? Not that I have heard of.

I am surprised that nobody has suggested that the author of the Shoot to Incapacitate theory demonstrate it with Simunitions on a live target attacking, fleeing, or just jiving around threateningly.
The idea of giving sedatives/hypnotics to human patients via dart is hilarious and a non-starter on so many levels. But I've definitely spent an inordinate amount of time thinking about it...

That was pretty impressive shooting on a moving target.
