This appears tactically imprudent as well as potentially generating one or more felonies. Unless they threatened the patron he committed felonies by threatening them in turn.
A better approach looks like to leave the area.
Wonder if he'll use the St. Louis McCloskey defense and say the gun was not a threat because the hammer wasn't cocked?
