Thread: Holster for a wheelchair

    Holster for a wheelchair

Have an individual who is wheelchair bound and asked about using a holster with his wheelchair. At current he's been using a nylon rig with one of their garbage clips and was attempting to keep it between his legs in a pouch typically designed for a cell phone. Individual has a harder time trying to access a typical waistband holster solution due to being in his wheelchair. Figured it was worth asking around here about potential options for this individual.

If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

Not very bright but does lack ambition
My late wife was wheelchair bound (a powerchair, not manual.) She carried a G21 in a holster shell that came from her old Feminine Protection carry purse placed in a nylon hang pouch placed on the front of her seat cushion behind her knees. She tried a shoulder holster but the 21 was too big for her comfort. It wasn’t the fastest thing to access but she was resistant to trying other ways.

Is he looking for something concealed versus open?

Here are some ideas, disregard if they don’t apply.

    Shoulder Holster

My uncle used a shoulder holster so that he was armed all the time. For example, there were some cramped restaurants where we would place him in the regular chair and his wheelchair moved aside.

If he doesn't like a shoulder holster, maybe a chest rig, but when concealment is a requirement, that may be slow to access.

A generic-looking pouch/bag modified with an internal stiffener and a holster shell, like one of the JMCK Enigma shells?

Would a cross draw holster work in this situation? Do any reputable companies make them?
