    Relaod question

I am fairly new to reloading and have a question for the more experienced re loaders on here.
I loaded once fired brass that was cleaned with Winchester small pistol primers, Bullseye powder (the min 3.1 gr) and Magnus 158 gr LSWC factory lubed bullets set to 1.460 OL. with a light roll crimp using the Lee Factory crimp die.
I seemed to have a large amount of smoke when fired and also noticed a bit of a dark (soot?) spot on one side of the fired brass.
Any help with this would be great.
    Thanks
    Ray

I assume that this is a 38 Special load?

3.1 grains of Bullseye is a low pressure load and the case is probably not expanding enough to seal against the chamber.

Years ago when I started reloading for 45 Colt I would get the same thing. My local gunshop looked at the cases and told me it was perfectly normal.

The lube on lead ammo is likely causing your smoke. Some powders make it worse.
