Question HELP: Need advice on purchasing a CCW SLING bag/pack

    Hi,

There are a lot of CCW sling bags/packs out there and I was wondering if anyone on this forum can recommend a good one that does not scream TACTICAL. Want to use it for travel, EDC and with a box of ammo as a range bag. I don't want something as big as a full-on backpack. Should hold anything from an HK P2000sk up to a Commander without printing. Should be as moisture resistant as possible.

There are a lot of makes and models out there... Been looking at Vertex, Vanquest, Maxpedition, 5.11 Tactical and SOG to name a few.

    Thanks!

I know nothing about this vendor, but the bag is solid.

Perhaps, the Hill People Gear Attache:

    Maybe add this Sling:

    https://hillpeoplegear.com/Products/.../ProductID/118

Hill People Gear has their nylon gear made by First Spear, which means that it is made very, very well.

I have the Attache, and may order that sling.

For something just big enough for the pistol, and a magazine, the Safepacker, from The Wilderness dot com, is nice. A sling can be attached.

Edited to add: I just re-read the OP, and noticed the “range bag” part. The Safepacker is not big enough for a range bag, but is very strong in the EDC category, so, I am leaving the link, for those who may benefit.

I need something just big enough to hold the contents of my pockets including a pocket pistol. I've been using an old Uncle Mikes fanny pack but I'd like something a little less "tactical". On second thought, it might be nice if it could hold my 10" Kindle too.

I have a sneaky bag, vertex bags, Hill People Gear bag, Maxpedition, and a safe packer from Wilderness. They are all good products and all have different functions. If I had to pick one, I would go with my Vertex shoulder bag. It could double as a rang bag if necessary. However a bag optimized for EDC will not be optimized for use as a range bag.

Mystery Ranch and Eberlestock are two other brands to look into, but I think their offerings will be too big.

VertX Transit. Just looks like a bag.

Why don't you want it to scream tactical? People that know will recognize it anyways and people that don't probably don't care.

I use the errant sling for daily commuting https://www.boundarysupply.com/products/errant-sling

I usually carry a 11 inch ipad pro plus a rotation of other items depending on the weather. There is a pocket that will hold a g19 in a holster. It carries way more than expected but collapses down magnetically so it's not too bulky when not needed. The only thing I wish I did was go x-pac material for the waterproofing as I am in the rain quite a bit.

Carryology is a site that reviews bags in general and may be a good place to start. https://www.carryology.com/category/bags/slings/
