I shot a .380 Hi Point Carbine before - it's surprisingly quiet and the RedBall 20rnd mags for the 9mm Hi Point carbine work pretty well too. Honestly just about everything about it was quiet and easy. If threaded, it'd be a hoot to put a suppressor on one.

I genuinely debated buying one for my elderly Mom as an alternative to a 10/22 for a home defense 'rifle'.

The 380 Auto cartridge doesn't gain much terminal performance from the longer carbine barrel.

Hollow points tend to expand a little more and penetrate slightly less.
Higher velocities are obtained from 9mm handguns, but, the real weakness of 380 Auto is its light-for-caliber bullets.
