    My old thread.

    I can let you know what I have for rb grips you can borrow
    Thanks. I do have a couple of different grips in the bin of grips and holsters, so I'll start with them.

    After I've shot it in, I might end up swapping out the lasergrips from my 65 and retiring that gun from bedside duty.

    S&W Model 10-8 HB

    S&W Model 10-8 Heavy Barrel / Square Butt (approximately a 1982 manufacture date).
    The (not era correct to the gun) Diamond Magnas look to be in overall decent condition.
    (*the stocks are worth about $50 - $60ish per what I've seen on ebay over the past few months)

    Spending under $400 on a 3" Model 10 and then a few hundred more to make it a 3" gun and put a pinned/removable front sight on it is sounding more and more like the better deal than buying new.

    {Sez the woman who bought a new gun.}

    Anyone here celebrating? I thought about grabbing it myself, especially at that price.

    Agree completely for several reasons that don't matter to anyone but me.

    But, your new one should be good to go if 03RN's experience with the same model translates to the one you picked up.
    The canted front sight issue should be easy enough for S&W to correct.
