    I’ve got a mostly-pristine 25-2. I would like a 4” (or maybe 5”) holster gun, but need a donor that’s not collectible.

I don’t have a clue what it would do that my 625 won’t, except look a lot cooler.
No credit card fee, too! The internals might have been tuned up.
If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

Looks like somebody was setting it up for a pin gun or for USPSA and then didn't shoot it much. Front sight and cylinder latch have been changed plus hammer has been slightly bobbed.

Looks pretty solid in the pictures.

    Thats precisely what I like.

Someone’s already tinkered with it, so I can proceed guilt-free[emoji6]

Like you said, maybe someone was setting up for USPSA revo when 8-shots became legal.

if those chambers on the M12 are refinished with that powdery stuff too, wouldn't that impair function?

Looks like somebody tried to emulate one of the late Tiger McKee's "Choppers"--Somebody who is ALL THUMBS...

S&W 4" SS MODEL 625-6 PRE LOCK MOUNTAIN GUN .45 COLT

I've been looking at revolvers in caliber 45 Colt lately. I think I'm going to try to find a single-action model first, but this double-action S&W 4" Stainless Steel Mountain Gun sure looks nice. Perhaps a pistol-forum member (who lives near the mountains?) may want to make a run on it.

The way people lust after 45 Colt Mountain Guns I'm surprised there in't at least one bid.

The irony of the listing is that if he started the auction at a penny, it would likely sell for not too much less than the ignorant "starting bid".
Especially if there was a 3 day inspection/return option.

What did they finish it with, spray on bedliner?
