Looks like @GJM wins the bet with @Doc_Glock. I picked up a P365x today.
Took it home, did a basic clean and field strip to check it out. All ok. Dang these small RSAs are stiff.
Brought it to the range, shot 89 rounds. Zero problems. Included 12 rounds of Federal HST 147 and 10 Speer Gold Dot 124+p (my carry ammo.) The rest was American Eagle 124 or BB 124 FMJ. I used B-8s and a USPSA A-zone I print up at home for targets. I loaded 12 rounds a couple of times to verify the mags, having my Uplula along made loading the 12th round drama free.
I have to say, this is amazingly soft shooting for a microcompact. The XL grip fits my size M hands perfectly, the slide seems to cycle pretty flat. I liked the flat trigger on the P365XL I had previously, and this one is the same. I ran a B-8 out to 10 yards and did a 90-2X with 10 rounds, in about 15-20 seconds, so not really in a hurry. Groups were low and right a bit, mostly because of my tendency to under grip my support hand. I really missed having an optic; I did a group at 25 yards and put 6/10 on paper, but it was not my best effort. The sights were fine but I don't tend to see them well these days.
Cleaned it at home, noticed some dings in the barrel hood from the shooting or I dunno perhaps the assembly process (pistol had a born on date of 10-26-21) but I don't worry too much about that kind of thing. It's meant to be shot. The mags are a nice change from Glocks; I forgot how easy they come apart; just like HK mags. I did my usual check for swarf or flashing on the followers, or gunk in the mag tube, or bent springs, or whatever; but they were pretty clean. Wiped them out and reassembled.
I'm very impressed. I have history with Sig; my wife had a P365 for a while and I owned a P365XL last year before I went back to a G48 because:reasons. Definitely going to get a 507k and put it on soon; I miss having my dot.
I cobbled together a makeshift AIWB holster from a old lefty JM CK IWB 15 degree cant P365XL shell I had laying around, a PTD loop and a spare wing. Carry is great, I'm amazed it's so comfortable and thin, even with the make-shift holster. The whole rig itself, with 13 rounds of Speer GD 124+p, weighs 28 oz. My G19 rig is 36 oz. The Sig is 2.2 oz per round, putting it at the top of my personal oz/round metric out of the box.
Appreciate it's not quite proven itself yet, and I'm still in the honeymoon phase, but if it continues to perform consistently it'll be a keeper.
