Found it. I really like the gun. The trigger is good, it seemed pretty accurate and the form factor really works for me. I don't have a regular shield to compare, but I would think the slides are the same and it's the same part.
Sorry for your trouble. Here is a replacement, I think:

Thanks, ordering one to have as a backup and hoping it's never needed. I'll still send it back for repair in case it's not a fluke and there's something to be learned about the fitment or metallurgy. FWIW, I was running it in 10+1 and 13+1 mode and feeding the 1st round from the other mag. No surprise, but it takes a pretty firm rap to seat full mags.

Maybe the mags should sit loaded for a day or two before use in the future lol.

    Apex? Where you at?

I wonder if/when Magguts will add capacity to Shield Plus mags.

I would be quite reluctant to mess with the reliability of the OEM MecGar magazines, especially given their capacity.

Yeah, not unique to the Shield the harmony of variables is already delicate enough in the subcompacts.

If height is important, this is the Plus with its ten round mag inserted and the 43X/48 with same.

I always download the original shield mags by one to make seating in less than ideal conditions easier.

Also the pressure on the slide with a full mag is adding to the chances of a short cycle.

Sounds like the same would hold true for the plus.....I will know soon.

The height of the 43x is deceiving as the full mag sticks out 3/8's of an inch If one is only looking at the frame.
