I kid, I kid. But I’m calling it now. 5.56 vs 5.7 is the new 7.62 vs 5.56.

I've thought about getting a 5.7 pistol as a "fun gun" for the range and field, but with the available pistols being kind of "uninspiring" and the present cost of ammunition, I am not sure I'll ever get one.

An hour on the range with a rental Ruger 5.7 was disappointing with a long, creepy, gritty trigger pull that was, at best, inconsistent. Oh, well...now I don't have try and acquire an adequate supply of another caliber at these prices, so there's that.
The ruger is awful; the fn less so.

The FN FsN is a wonderful pistol, my favorite one to take to the range. Trigger on mine is actually a pretty crisp single action; better then a glock trigger thats for sure, albeit no 1911.

I've busted milkjugs out to 150yds with mine, its an awesome long range plinker.

The MK2 variant has the ability to mount an aftermarket slide cover for RDS, which would greatly enhance the practical range.

The 5.7x28 has a ton of untapped potential.

An EPR version of the projectile, loaded to Elites S4M pressure (27gr @ 2400fps) would be promising.

Liberty makes a EPR (similar to M855A1) for the 4.6x30, to give some idea of how an EPR 5.7 could perform.

Interesting that they finally classified the official NATO PDW cartridge about 35 years after the RFP was released.

    Gnarly.
