LPVOs in 2023 and beyond

Just added an RMR to my 1-6, and it’s awesome.

For starters, I zeroed the RMR at 25y but this may change. The 1-6 is zeroed at 100.

For 0 to 400 yds I still like my 14.5" inch barreled upper with the Kahles 1-6X with the G4B reticle. I recently added an ACRO P2 at 12 o'clock, and in it's role it works just fine *for me*.

How are you liking the Arisaka optic mount? Is that lower 1/3 cowitness? I've been looking at them (online) and have always liked everything else from them. I'm just surprised there isn't much info/reviews out there on their optic mounts.

I like it. The 1.700” height mount is just the height I wanted for the Holosun 530 RDS which sets a little higher than an Aimpoint T2 RDS. I also like the larger FOV through the Holosun RDS.

Initial impressions are good. Nothing wow worthy but the only other LPVO I’ve used in over a year is the razor 1-10. The weight is definitely better but my 1-10 is on a much more established rifle with light, offset RDS, plus two inches of barrel and rail length. It’s definitely not daylight bright. Someone else called it daylight red which I think is very accurate. I’d guess that it’s bright enough for most people but I like my optics so bright that I’d kill Aimpoint batteries in about a year.

I’m probably going to try really hard to give it a thorough run but I’ve already been tempted to sell/return it and just get another Razor which is what I heavily weighed it against.

Got a little more time on it today, still kind of the same thoughts. Haven't been able to do anything more than bench rest shooting for groups. It seems good, I still just think I like my Razor 1-10 better. Not sure when I'll really be able to run it, the chances are growing that I'll just sell it and go with what I know before then.

A bit of info on the new Steiner 1-6x24mm. I wonder how well the KC reticle will work in practice. Is it going to be daylight bright? Probably not.
