    Hotel?

Easier and safer than driving to my house. They'd be welcome here, of course.

All’s well that ends well- my wife made the plane and I picked her up.

As for a once in a lifetime event in Texas, I’ll disagree. Seems like the most famous recent ice storm happened a few years ago when the Super Bowl was in Arlington.

As for the power stuff- nothing anyone can do and I understand. I admit- I do enjoy hearing the windmills are frozen. Wonder what AOC is thinking right now.
This country needs an enema- Blues approved sig line

Thanks for thinking of them - they are both from down on the border, and other than a year in Lubbock driving in snow is a foreign concept. They’ve resisted heading to a hotel.

Apparently it’s common now, per Der Googles. Adding one more thing to my consideration list for the kitchen rebuild, but I’m already wanting to switch from LP to electric.

Our fix for living in an area with frequent outages (in this case, Santa Cruz County up Highway 9 and outside city limits) was a vintage stove with a professional propane jet conversion. Ours was made in 1935, and would burn wood for the two burners on the far right. Our next place will likely have the same. The constant pilot light added about $5 monthly to our propane bill, but the range had the best burner controls of any I've yet used, including modern Viking units. It did weigh nearly 600 lbs, though.
There are much less idiosyncratic choices, of course.

So I hear. I’m in AZ at the moment (it’s pleasant) but we’re headed back tomorrow.

Supposed to be 30 minutes every few hours. We shall see.
