    DIY chimney sweep

I had my chimneys swept in November, but it was a new guy and he told me that he didn’t need to go on the roof. I got in a load of “seasoned” firewood that was not seasoned in my mind, so I burned some of it and then bought this SootEater chimney sweep kit and went to work on my chimneys the past coupla days. As you can see, it’s a good damn thing I did. I’m more than a little relieved that I got a break in the weather and did this. The kit was well worth the money and I finally burned out my decade old Ryobi drill, so now it’s time to upgrade to brushless, baby!

My neighbor had a chimney fire. I wasnt there to see it but he told me stove, which took 4 people to move, was dancing on his basement floor and 20’ flames shooting out of the chimney. Id say that was a pretty spectacular event.

A neighbor just had a chimney fire and we’ve got a snow storm coming, I’m pleased to have gotten this done for so cheap and on time, too. Good investment.
