Thread: Maryland Shooting

The video was not available so I am going off the GIF but it looks like a good number of the shots are directed toward the suspects upper right shoulder area more than center mass.

Here are 2 links that have the video.

After watching it repeatedly and in slow motion it looks like at least 1 or 2 shots if well off to the side as the officer is swung at and hit by the stick and the suspect is turned. The last 2-3 shots the suspect appears to be collapsing as he takes his last step or two. As BBI noted it is approx 5 seconds from first shot to collapse which could be oxygenated blood running out. I would be interested if this guy was on any drugs or alcohol but I wouldn't be surprised if he was 100% clean just determined and raging.

Could you imagine with that video if the presumed innocent assailant had been African American.

In a county where the county executive's committee on "reimagining public safety" recommends reducing police staffing in two largely minority districts so people of color aren't bothered by the police? (Of course, I live in one of those districts and no one bothered to ask my opinion or, as far as I know, many other residents.)

In addition to the suspect being white, we're fortunate that he was wearing a 160th SOAR t-shirt (must be a warmonger) and that he was shot by a member of the Sheriff's Office (which is not under the direct control of the county executive and council) rather than the Montgomery County Police.

Wow. I am thinking what if that guy had a knife. He still could have hurt the deputy badly. This was an eye-opener, which I imagine is why Mr. Givens posted in the first place.

Note the bad language and interesting social commentary.

There was some wisdom in his utterances.
