Quite a person, and quite a read.

The first enlisted sailor to have a memorial service at the Naval Academy's chapel.

    Wow.

I remember reading about her some months back. All that I can say is what a fucking boss ass bitch!

I read about her when she had been killed, but not to this detail.

She was just as comfortable at a Dropkick Murphys concert as she was studying in a classroom

Holy shit, what an amazing warrior and human being!

I'd seen her picture before and knew she did some clandestine work overseas but had no idea the extent of it.

With all the shit in todays news cycle this was a great read and gives me hope that there may be a couple more Shannon Kents out there somewhere.

I hold a small number of people in my mind as my heroes. Learning about Shannon Kent awhile back was the first time I thought of a woman as truly one of my heroes.

She is an absolute example of the type of person I aspire to be like. Reading her accomplishments shows a person who was obviously a go getter, who put in the work to achieve her goals.

    She deserves a statue.

Let's see who wants to try to pull it down.
