One of the greats. I grew up knowing her for her comedic roles (and yes, she was one of the best at that even very late in life) but when I saw her in The Last Picture Show she blew my mind. If you've never seen it, trust me, watch it and you'll find a whole new appreciation for her.
Heckuva run. I pretty much only know her from her roles in the Eighties and Nineties. I should watch The Last Picture Show again. It's been quite some time. (Honestly, what I remember most is Cybill Shepherd's character.)
