Rangefinder glass quality

For bowhunting optics I currently have a pair of 10x42 Vortex Diamondback binoculars (about 7 years old) and a Redfield Raider 550 Rangefinder. The binoculars are fantastic and I have no issues with them. The glass in the rangefinder leaves much to be desired, especially in low light.

My question is whether this is just the way all rangefinders are due to their nature, or would I see benefit to upgrading the rangefinder in terms of glass quality.

I have a rangefinder that says 8x28 on it. If your rangefinder has a similar smaller objective lens of 28mm versus the 42mm of you binoculars, it makes sense that the image is not as bright if you compare the two.

I don't know much about rangefinder glass quality and if a different model would improve things.

Range finding binoculars could work, but are expensive.
