    Glock+Dremel+Brûlée torch+Stippling iron+JCN… what could go wrong?

Rainy Sunday, still nursing thumb injury.

Thought I would do a little project.

    Defensive gun.

This is how much E6000 I use on plates.

I don’t go all the way to edges so I can get a razor in between to separate it out later.

The 509 mounting system still had a little slop so I used a little on that interface as well, making sure to stay away from electronics.

I’m waiting for a Gen 5 G17 frame to come in on Wednesday, but dude… that’s like DAYS away….

So I have this unused G19x lying around and got to thinking that I could use the lip and lanyard like a 1911 magwell…

Could also grip chop but seems like a shame…

What if I just massaged the grip hump?

Used heat to fold and used the leftover polymer shavings and a flat tip on iron.

    Hump is flattened.

It’s a little bit of an optical illusion.

    It’s pretty straight.

Flared the magwell and clearanced the front and rear to make a virtual magwell extension.

Put a Timney trigger in to see if I could get performance on par with my other guns.

As a left hander I flog all my guns into submission. Damn their aesthetics.
Wood rasps, sandpaper, tape, heat guns...

After some time with this mod… I love it.

This is going to make my Glocks have new life in my household.

Here is a comparison to how the stock hump compares (in black).

    Points exactly like my CZs.

Nice work! Did you leave the seam in the back strap as-is after your mod or are you going to stipple it to hide the cuts?

I left it as is so it’d be a smooth to smooth interface with the backstrap that covers it.

    Function over form.

I may or may not have put some E6000 between the two….

I did heat the backstrap from the underside so I could change the contour a little.

    “FORM OVER FUNCTION”

I hear you on that! For me, most of my guns are TOOLS… not jewelry!!!
