Not long after 9-11 I was doing E.P. for my Governor and as it was a non uniformed assignment, I had switched from my issued primary duty Glock 21 .45 to a Kimber pre series 1911 (I had qual'ed myself with the 1911 as my "backup" . The 1911 simply worked better under a suit coat, even though it was heavier and carried fewer rounds.
This being P-F, I figured that this would be a good thread for pure information, so guys (and gals) can refer to it if they choose to.

I've noticed the same thing. I was just on an off-duty security gig yesterday. My P250c in a Safariland ALS holster "pulls" on my hip more than the steel .45 Commander in a Galco Speedmaster with the belt loop installed.
I think that weight distribution is a factor as well, in addition to total weight, thickness, etc. Unfortunately, Rich, just plugging in numbers doesn't tell the whole tale.
