COVID Stimulus Check Hit the Bank Tonight

So, of course, I had to spend part of it on shooting. I signed up for Tom Givens' one-day Defensive Revolver course at KR Training in April.

I did this with my alms from the God Emperor:

That is far cooler than one of those brand new Fender "relic" Telecasters made to look like they'd played every bar in Bakersfield for 50 years...

I've been debating buying one of those de-barreled Model 10s and doing something like this to it. You didn't ease things.

I love model 10s, but I have to ask, why this gun?

It checks a great many of my boxes:

    - Someone had a vision and ground metal until it was achieved. I respect that.

    - Nelson Ford action job. Plus the trigger face has been shaped for even more comfy double-action if you look closely.

    - Stumpy hammer spur like the 317 to have one but make it a bit less snaggy.

    - Victory model barrel so part of the gun was made to stop the Hun.

    - Front sight looks to be regulated, already.

    - Boot grips which I love.

    - Lighter than a heavy barrel and less front heavy. If it runs and regulates with my carry ammo or 158 grain solid semi-wadcutter, it will be my new fat biking and woods loafing piece on top of alternate belt gun a bit lighter and smaller than my 4" square butt Malay.

    - Finish is just right for me to sweat on even more.

    - It's beautiful.

I wish I could have found a 3" tapered barrel like that for my frame. Instead Sokol is using a cut down barrel from numerichs.

I'll be taking a training class this year and want to do a med class as well.

My stimulus money is going to a two week summer trip to Montana with the family. We'll be driving out from SC and staying with some family out there. We'll visit Yellowstone on the way and plan to hit Mt Rushmore and Little Big Horn coming or going. Maybe a couple other historic sites as well.

My boys, 8 and 11, have fallen in love with the old west the last couple of months and spend much of their time pretending to be Doc and Wyatt and telling me I can be their Huckleberry.

You’re all welcome (no stimulus check here.)
