One of which, Mclaughlin's department store has been around for 45 years. They're closing early 2021. A ton of people are struggling to make it by. To be honest, that area has been economically screwed for a long time. There just aren't a ton of decent jobs. The guns they make are to expensive for 90% of the people that wander into Mayhood's, the local brick and mortar gun store. Then the shut downs started, and the restrictions. Essential workers only were able to go to work. Couple that up with some family telling me that people were being ticketed for being in public without a mask... People are barely paycheck to paycheck in most of the Otsego/Chenango area. NYSP is out to ticket you on any road for any reason. That's really how it feels up there.
The point I'm making is that I can't honestly picture Dan Wesson being in Norwich long term. It wouldn't be shocked to see them move somewhere else eventually. I hope I'm wrong, because I like seeing Norwich on the side of my Valor. But NYS has managed to make things incredibly hard for pretty much every gun manufacturer in their state. Couple that up with shut downs, and a crummy place to live... I don't picture them pulling national level talented employees to live in the area.
Edit: I'd also love to see some DWX's in circulation. They look awesome.
